A thorough training schedule has been designed to ensure that you will have a really good understanding of what the role of a carer at, At Home-Specialists in Care is and what will be expected from you on a day-to-day basis.

The training team will lead you though a number of classroom sessions and practical activities designed specifically to give you the skills and knowledge to ensure that you are happy and confident in your role. When you complete the Training from our training provider, MCQ which is a locally run training establishment, you will be ready for your first customer placement.

  • The role of the carer, your duties, responsibilities and how we deliver them in the At Home Specialists in Care way
  • Our values and beliefs at, At Home-Specialists in Care
  • Medication
  • Personal care
  • Manual handling
  • Abuse and safeguarding
  • Dementia Awareness
  • Health and safety
  • First aid
  • Person Centred Care

The training Induction week has been designed to make sure that everyone gets involved and has the opportunity to ask as many questions as they need to. Our training providers, are on hand in breaks and at lunchtimes to answer any questions and to provide one-to-one support.

This is also a good opportunity for everyone to meet all the other members of the team including the management team.

Your professional development
At Home-Specialists in Cares ongoing training and career development are central to what we do, we value every member of staff and believe they are important to the success of the company. Following completion of our Induction package from our training provider you will be placed on a bespoke training plan. This ongoing training will assist you in developing your skills to improve the care that you give whilst helping you achieve your career goals.

Our local management and training provider will support you through your learning, including the completion of the NVQ level 2/3 diploma in Health and Social care, other training qualifications available are Advanced management level 3/5/7. Each member of At Home-Specialists in Care staff will receives an annual appraisal and regular supervision meetings with their Care coordinator and Registered Manager, where personal development and training needs are reviewed and discussed.
