Business Development Manager (Live In Service)

My name is Karen and I have worked in Health and Social Care for too many years to recall. I am the Business Development Manager for the Live in Service.

Personally I could not think of working in a different industry other than ‘Care’, I am very passionate about providing a high level of person centred care to the people that require all levels of support and always personalise to their needs.. I decided to work in Care after nursing my Grandad when he was at the later stages of life, I have never looked back after this. Our Carers are our business and when people say they are ‘just carers’ they are not, they are sometimes your family members only visitor and support that day.  

I joined the At Home Specialists in Care Team back in May 2023 having previously worked at two of the largest Live in Care Providers in the Country. I am passionate about sharing this knowledge and my experience to the team to build on what is already a great company with an amazing ethos. I have worked hard throughout my career and hold a L5 Leadership and Management award along with various other training certifications. I also have a passion for Dementia, being a previous Dementia Champion in a previous role I supported staff with awareness, behavioural support techniques and sharing general experiences of the disease.

A bit about me personally, I grew up on The Wirral and visit my parents and large family frequently, I have lived in St Helens now for over 25 years. I have 2 grown up Sons aged 26 and 22 and I am married to Andy, we got married back in 2023 after being engaged for over 27 years. I love travelling and visiting different countries and finding out more about other cultures
